KAREN BULL | Definitely Different

Born in New Zealand in 1952, and having Irish ancestry and a DNA personal profile as being directly traceable to the Viking people is probably a good description of myself.

Working from seventeen years old to sixty three certainly brought forward strong values and a clear firm voiceof justice coupled with a lifelong love for music, laughter and fun.

My working life often found me in other countries, experiencing different ways of living and volunteering in different cultures, challenging at times, which I also loved and adapted to.

Marriage and children followed. An unexpected hiccup of a dance with a serious cancer in my sixties meant a pause and re-evaluation of life. Stopped in my tracks so to speak, I started looking at being somehow creativewith my hands and finally ended up being fascinated with producing 3D layered pictures made of plywood, also pictures on canvas, black acrylic and other surfaces.

Now my own personal time is often immersed in colour, nature and imagination and hard learning about some technical skills which does not come easily to me. I am so fascinated and immersed in this different way of being/seeing the world, that I can happily say “If someone had ever told me I would be doing this now in later life, I would NEVER have believed them!”

Welcome to “Definitely Different”, my little look at the world!
